Air-Conditioning and Ventilation

Conditioning your building to optimum comfort

Ventilation

Compass Building Services will work with you to create energy efficient buildings. As technology evolves there has been a decline in natural ventilation effectiveness. This has led to mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems becoming increasingly more popular.

In the modern workplace, preserving occupational health and wellbeing is critical. Poor indoor air quality can cause dampness, rot and mould through excess humidity, with significant negative effects including asthma and a decrease in workforce morale and productivity. The installation of mechanical ventilation systems complete with heat recovery will not only improve occupier comfort but also improve energy efficiency.

Compass Buildings Services have extensive experience of installing and refurbishing air-conditioning and ventilation systems within a range of environments. We have the ability to provide bespoke solutions to remove airborne contamination, produced by building occupiers and equipment, to ensure the cleanest environment is achieved.

Mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems preserve the temperature within the building by extracting the stale air and transferring the heated energy before distributing it back into the fresh air required for the building. The result is a reduction in heating and cooling loads, an improvement in energy efficiency and a saving on monthly energy bills, as well as providing optimum comfort for building users.

Compass Building Services can provide all types of heat recovery ventilation solutions, ensuring your expectations are exceeded.

Comfort Cooling & Heating

Compass Building Services offer full design and installation services within the air-conditioning sector. We possess an array of industry knowledge coupled with extensive experience, making us the experts you need to speak to. Our engineers are trained by industry leading manufacturers giving us the ability to provide bespoke air-conditioning solutions which can provide simultaneous heating and cooling. These systems utilise the latest industry technologies which include the use of renewable energy and heat recovery functions which subsequently reduce your monthly energy bills and improve your carbon footprint. We can design a solution in keeping with the internal finish of your building.

Our engineers and management teams attend the latest manufacturer training programs so that we are always on top of best practice within the industry ensuring that we always provide a premium service.

Extraction / LEV

Industry Health and Safety and CoSHH regulations require building owners to comply with regulations relating to air quality to ensure that building occupiers experience a healthy environment. Extraction systems are key to satisfying the requirements set out in these regulations.

To achieve optimum comfort within areas such as kitchens and washrooms, our extraction systems are designed and installed to remove humidity, C02 and unwanted odours within the space thus complying with the regulations.
To maintain safe workplaces for employees within various industrial and laboratory settings, it is essential that the harmful fumes generated from appliances are removed.

As part of our design process, we will ensure that Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) regulations are adhered to. We will confirm the type of fumes generated in each area and ensure they are vented in a way that is environmentally friendly. Our in-house technical sales team will consult on the most energy efficient extraction system for your building to ensure you have the best solution that meets your requirements. Our fully qualified engineers will then test your installation to the relevant standards to give you peace of mind.

Compliance

Compass Building Services hold industry required certifications, such as REFCOM F-Gas Certified. This means that we are a member of the governing body who set out the industry standards which Air Conditioning businesses are expected to adhere to.

Our mission is to work with you to ensure that your buildings and assets are being managed and maintained effectively in order to make you compliant. Our maintenance regimes will cover:

  • Filtering Cleaning
  • Operational Health Checks
  • System Functionality Checks
  • System Condition Reports
  • Asset Register Updates
  • Waste Management
  • And much, much more.

We are fully dedicated to repair and refurbish rather than replace systems where possible, to decrease the carbon impact on our planet.

Mechanical ventilation is the intentional introduction of outdoor air into a given space.

It is recommended to replace your Air Conditioning every 10-15 years.

In short, No. Air Conditioning Units do not draw in fresh air from outside. Typically air conditioning systems are made up from an external condensing unit and an indoor wall/ ceiling mounted unit. These two units are connected via copper pipework that are filled with refrigerant gas.

Local Exhaust Ventilation or Local Extract Ventilation is a small isolated control measure to remove fumes or other harmful gases.
